- Assessing Collaboration In Supply Chain
Thomas Hacardiaux (Université catholique de Louvain) Co-authors: Jean-Sébastien Tancrez Abstract: We propose a location-inventory model, formulated as a conic quadratic mixed integer program, to assess the benefit of horizontal cooperation, using the synergy value, comparing costs of stand-alone companies and horizontal partnerships. We conduct a large set of numerical experiments, varying several key parameters (vehicles capacity, opening, inventory and ordering costs and demand variability). We also discuss the impact of the number of partners, of the ability to open new facilities and of the retailers’ locations.
