- Stochastic solutions for the Inventory-Routing Problem with Transshipment
Wouter Lefever (Ghent University) Co-authors: El-Houssaine Aghezzaf, Khaled Hadj-Hamou Abstract: In this work, we study the Inventory-Routing Problem with Transshipment (IRPT), a more flexible variant of the IRP, with stochastic demand. Because the stochastic program is hard to solve, we (1) propose improvements to the second-stage problem, (2) we investigate the upgradeability of the first-stage solution and (3) we introduce multiple replications with different scenario sets. The experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the presented sample average approximation algorithm.
