- Multicriteria clustering: a summary of recent investigations
Yves De Smet (Université Libre de Bruxelles) Abstract: The application of traditional clustering techniques to multicriteria problems is not appropriate. Indeed, these techniques are often based on a distance measure that is, by definition symmetric. On the contrary, relations that allow the pairwise comparison between alternatives are most of the time asymmetric. Therefore, new methods have to be developed to take into account this distinctive feature. The goal of this presentation is to summarize three recent techniques( based on binary or valued preferences matrices) for totally or partially ordered clustering.
