PhD position (100%) in Operations Research models and algorithms for in-orbit services at ANT/OR, Department of Engineering Management, Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Antwerp!

Imagine a future where satellites receive on-orbit servicing—refueling, repairs, and upgrades—from a dedicated space-based logistics hub. With this research project, we aim to develop models and algorithms to tackle the complex strategic, tactical and operational challenges of such an in-orbit service center. Building upon the state-of-the-art in Operations Research, we are interested in in-orbit routing, path planning, service mission scheduling and dispatching, facility location and inventory management.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a Master degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar to work on this exiting research project. Ideally, you can show good modelling and/or programming skills and affinity or experience with space and/or orbital mechanics would be a plus.
