HEC Liège invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral position in combinatorial optimization

HEC Liège recruits a full-time postdoctoral researcher in the context of a research project in the field of combinatorial optimization applied to postal services. The project is funded by bpost, the Belgian postal company.

HEC Liège

HEC Liège is the Management School of the University of Liège (ULiège). The University is an active partner of a network of over 900 universities promoting the exchange of students, researchers, and skills. As one of its faculties, HEC Liège is one of the leading Belgian management schools hosting graduate and postgraduate study programs. The School counts 110 full-time faculty members and researchers and about 3,500 students, and promotes an empowering pedagogy leading students to play a proactive part in their education. HEC Liège's commitment to and ongoing investment in quality improvement has been recognized through the international Accreditations AACSB and EQUIS (delivered by EFMD).

HEC Liège emphasizes the human dimension of its work environment, the regional anchoring of its community service missions, the managerial relevance of its teaching and its applied research projects, let alone its fruitful inter-faculty partnerships. At HEC Liège, the research activities within the strategic field “Business Analytics and Supply Chain Management” are carried out by the members of QuantOM, the “Centre for Quantitative Methods and Operations Management”. Many researchers of QuantOM work on scientific projects supported by public research grants or by collaborations with industrial partners. Moreover, HEC Liège offers a broad array of courses in these areas, and particularly in the context of its master’s degree specializations in “Supply Chain Management and Business Analytics” and in “Global Supply Chain Management”.

Some of the main areas of expertise and research within QuantOM are in transport management and transport economics, production planning and scheduling, design and coordination of supply chains, statistics and statistical process control, integer programming and combinatorial mathematics, business intelligence, and business analytics.
