EURO WISDOM Forum - Activities

WISDOM (Women in Society: Doing Operational Research and Management Science) is a forum within the EURO that aims to support, empower, and encourage the participation of all genders in Operations Research and Management Science (shortly OR). One of the goals of WISDOM is to promote championing, networking, and mentoring, particularly of women at the early stages of their career in OR.

The EURO WISDOM Forum organizes a survey as a part of the WISDOM research agenda. The survey aims to identify some of the reasons people pick OR as a career, to explore the participation in OR (sub-) disciplines by gender, to identify potential challenges to participation, and to create insights into different academic career paths. The data gathered will enable the EURO community to be mapped out by gender and sub-discipline. You are cordially invited to complete this 10-minute survey, which will close on September 30:

The EURO WISDOM would like to bring your attention to the 2021 call of the initiative YoungWomen4OR. This initiative aims to introduce to our community emerging young women working in OR, either in academia or in the industry. The EURO WISDOM Forum will promote selected individuals by spotlighting their work through EURO channels and providing networking and mentoring opportunities. All young women working in OR are strongly encouraged to participate. Applications are welcome until October 15. More information can be found here.  

EURO WISDOM Forum Lightning Talks (YoungWomen4OR Webinar) will be held on September 27, 15.00 – 16.30 (Central European Standard Time) with speakers Dr Beatriz Brito Oliveira, Dr Lucy Morgan, Dr Melanie Reuter-Oppermann, and panelist Prof Stefan Nickel. More information can be found here.
