Tenured academic staff / Tenure track lecturer Operations Management and Logistics
Education task
The candidate will lecture in the bachelor years of the study Handelsingenieur (Business Engineering) and Handelswetenschappen (Business Administration), as well as in the master years of the study Handelsingenieur, afstudeerrichting Operationeel Management en Logistiek (Business Engineering, specialisation in Operations Management and Logistics). The educational task is situated in the fields of Operations Management, Production Planning, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and Operations Research. A vision and commitment for the fields under study is assumed. The applicant needs to show a vision with respect to competence-based education in the fields of study. The department Quantitative Methods has, as a principle of duty, that the total educational package is supported by the complete educational team and expects from its team members the required good fellowship and flexibility.
Research mission
Within the research group Logistics, the applicant is supposed to initiate, support and aim to obtain excellent scientific results of international level. The applicant will expand national and international cooperation networks in the field of research. The applicant needs to investigate research topics in line with the ones currently investigated by the research group Logistics, which focuses on the development of simulation and optimisation techniques for planning problems in logistics. The applications of the research are situated in problems regarding inventory, distribution and health care logistics of practical relevance.
Profile
The applicant should hold a Ph.D. (based on written dissertation), with preference in the fields of Business, Management or Engineering (the latter with a clear link towards Business Management) (or equivalent).
The research profile of the candidate is in line with the research group Logistics.
You are cooperative and can work well in teams.
The applicant has the potential to become a researcher of high international level, which should be proven from already acquired internationally recognised publications.
Good relational, communicative and reporting skills.
The applicant shows excellent educational qualities and shows interest in new educational initiatives.
The applicant has experience with project acquisition and supervision of doctoral theses.
Affinity and relations with the business community comes as an extra merit.
International cooperation serves as a good reference.
The candidate has at least two years of experience at postdoctoral level.
You have knowledge of the teaching language (Dutch and English). Non-native speakers should be willing to learn the Dutch language (C1 Dutch is expected within 1 year).
Offer
We will offer either an appointment as a lecturer in the tenure track system during 5 years. This will lead to an immediate permanent contract as a senior lecturer, if the Board of Directors favorably assesses the party involved, based on previously set public grading criteria. Otherwise, we will offer a fulltime appointment as a lecturer or higher, which will lead to tenure. In case of a first appointment as a member of the academic staff, the Board of Directors of the University can decide on a temporary appointment for a period up to 3 years. This will lead to a permanent contract if the Board of Directors favorably assesses the party involved.
